Today, Minneapolis trio Web of Sunsets return with both new material and the announcement of their first US tour. First up is the Gin Tapes EP, assembled in rapid fire following the release of the band’s debut LP earlier this year. Recorded again with Neil Weir at the Old Blackberry Way, these four tracks retain the trademark shimmer that Web of Sunsets have made their signature sound while opening new sonic spaces and deeper lyrical depth from each member. “Places” harkens back to the wobbly guitars of the band’s first single, “Fool’s Melodies,” offers up a little bit of Galaxie 500 worship to boot, and was premiered earlier today via The Wild Honey Pie.
